Scraps of everyday life I never got to write down

~ 2013.02.23

The shark in my heart

It may have meaning but no value.

This very moment is the youngest day of my life.

Manager? Middle manager for 5 years? — Do I really want to stack up a career and bury my life just to do the work a middle manager does today?

Everyone is different. But I want to become someone who can look in the same (empathetic) direction as others.

What I'm trying to do

Organize a new BM
Portfolio site renewal
Study English

Study coding (js, jquery, Arduino)

Graduate school

         1. After-UX and service design usable by small agencies and sole proprietors

         2. Running a collective of color-blind researchers: real-world web-accessibility testing, improvement of fundamental content building blocks, and job creation

         3. Commercializing eye-tracking mice (improved as a new-interface GUI) and turning it into a platform (ecosystem)

         4. Developing fundamentally improved lenses (albinism, achromatopsia)

Worn down

A self-wounding habit of putting on an 'objective' face in unexpected situations
Calculating the cost and benefit of every small thing
    Doubting someone's positive reaction
Which leaves no courage to accept it

No difference between positive surprise and negative
Suspicious of anything outside the fixed, repeated, standardized memory

Methodology

If the target is clear, the particular tool you use doesn't matter much.
The trouble starts when that tool keeps changing, or the people you work with keep changing.

If your lord hands you a sword, you'll fight with a sword; if you can't afford that, you fight with a hoe or a broom. Whether the situation even had to end up that way, and whether it was worth fighting at all, are entirely different questions.

Lesson: What KakaoTalk does well is
not being the #1 app or having a brilliant strategy — it's the ability to throw the whole team in and collaborate.

A shift in thinking

Humans perceive
The ability to perceive = the ability to feel limits
Hitting a limit

In fact, it isn't really 'ability' at all
