7. Imagination, What Comes Next
1) The Flow of Industry
Since the Industrial Revolution, the flow of industry has evolved:
Production -> Design -> Packaging -> Sales -> Marketing -> Distribution -> ?
Each layer stacking on top, growing more complex.
The perception of products has shifted from "First" to "Best" and recently to "Only One."
So when brands and companies with all these qualifications overflow and competitiveness starts to fade, what new direction will things flow toward?
2) The word "positioning" has already lost its meaning.
Elementary school kids listen to classical music, middle schoolers listen to jazz, and women in their 40s-50s love BigBang. Grandmothers nearing sixty enjoy macchiatos, and grandfathers over seventy drive sports cars. Homemakers enjoy college life, office workers play in bands, and college students carry legitimate CEO business cards.
Positioning divided by age, profession, or gender has become meaningless. At some point, consumers once divided by targeting and positioning have been replaced by tastes and hobbies that are hard to categorize.
