QR Code Book Launch / QR Code Design Seminar Preparation

Words left unsaid: Using new technology is not about showing off or flaunting social status or ability. We need to recognize it as a tool for empathizing and connecting with others and ourselves more smoothly in daily life.

For example, there are iPhones strongly perceived as fashion items, and iPads and MacBooks perceived as expensive due to stereotypes. (The iPad is actually cheaper than the Galaxy Tab. And the reason people don't choose MacBooks isn't that there are no programs to use - it's that pirated programs are hard to find.)

Digressing a bit, but what we must not forget is that QR codes are merely tools. Not technology for achieving some result, but just supplementary explanation or service for the process. They simply help. They're not essential.

They're just another expression of the flyers plastered all around urban areas. If that small black-and-white box causes harm between parents and children, or creates conflict between bosses and employees, it's nothing more than unnecessary surplus technology.

Recently, terms like "green growth" have led to more talk about sustainable development and design. It's not about making things green - it's about avoiding surplus, reducing superficiality, reusing what can be reused, and making things recyclable when new creation is unavoidable.

Honestly, QR codes as I've seen them have been nothing but disposable garbage that divides classes. But nonetheless, I've been working on how to design them more beautifully and accessibly.
