It started from "so what?" There was no boss like the one I had in mind — not really. Not even family-like companies really, and apparently not even real families, the way they used to be.There wasn't even a place that understood a few insights I'd had a bit early, and the process of bringing them to life, and what came after — was just as unclear.
Right. Not all places are like that, I'm sure. But I've spent ten years searching. I have no regrets about the process, because every moment of it was real, but I can't hide the sense of missed chances.
Of course, the size is different. But the problem, precisely, is that the size is different. No matter how much you were in a big company's strategic planning team, once you start a business in the Korean market it's the same as any other retiree.
Since it's going to be slow and faltering anyway, I think a life of taking just one little spot for myself — like a weed on the backside of a mountain, quietly where I can get to — may be better.
