The only reason humans, or really all living beings, are dignified regardless of form or efficiency is that each has a one-and-only existence.

Until now, we have done many, no, nearly all of our offline activities online.

Yet the reason we feel a cognitive and psychological distance and end up thinking of them as images that do not actually exist is perhaps because online objects can be infinitely copied, shared, deleted, and created.
In the end, they can have exchange value, but the object itself still lacks existential value. Because they can always be replaced, we think, judge, and act that way without even realizing it.
I think this runs on a similar track to why the value of Bitcoin keeps fluctuating; or actually, why all exchange values keep fluctuating.




For the citizen-ism that moves from the rock-bottom dignity of wild or monarchical life toward socialism and democracy, a sense of perception of and existential consciousness about the citizen, the individual, was needed.
In that sense, in the online environment, things like HTTP and block-chain play the role of social institutions and phenomena, while NFT plays the role of perception, consciousness, and semiotics.

In short, NFT within the metaverse can enable the roles of humanity's perception, dignity, existential value, and semiotics.





Lately the keyword "metaverse" has been getting a lot of coverage.
Rather than fragmented offline situations and actions, a metaverse is an environment where you can experience the many situations and actions that happen or could happen in reality.

Yet it is still not much different. A few features, especially VR, have been added and the sense of reality has improved, but in the end it is still just a replica of phenomena.

To conclude, what I mentioned earlier, the mediation and inevitable virtuality of the metaverse, can be given real-world objet-like existential meaning through NFT, providing a kind of recognition or specification for the formless objects created online. This is a key element that can complete the metaverse that has been underway.
