I signed up yesterday and I've been using Clubhouse for two days now.
There were so many impressive parts throughout that I wanted to leave a post.
On the frontend side of the service, the interface and narrative are very satisfying.
It's the first time the whole flow of noticing, installing, signing up, and joining the app has felt this moving.
The feeling of signing up and waiting for an invitation, and the feeling of logging in for the first time after receiving an invite link from someone I knew — it's still vivid.
On top of that, there's a phrase shared a lot among participants.
"Nice to meet you. Thank you."
I was also deeply moved while using it.
.
On the backend side, the operations and marketing are also excellent.
Like Facebook, it's a structure where small clusters of users spread gradually on top of social networks.
Unlike Facebook, the initial cluster wasn't Ivy League universities but the general public, starting on equal footing.
Like PayPal, the spread has been voluntary.
Unlike PayPal, the reward wasn't money but a limited set of invitations.
If I compare it to previous communication formats,
I'd say 'SMS : MMS : WeChat = Podcast : YouTube : Clubhouse.'
Positive keywords
- Fun: participants said it's more interesting than Instagram, and that on day one most people kept using it until dawn the next day.
- Accessibility: feels like a live radio broadcast. High satisfaction even from just listening. You can join with only your profile picture, name, and voice. I've seen many cases of people listening while driving home from work.
- Trust: even without entering much personal info, because people communicate directly with their voice, psychological trust between participants is fairly high. Even during conversations, you can learn about someone through their linked Instagram or Twitter.
- Repeatability: lots of requests to room hosts to open rooms periodically or repeatedly.
- Efficacy: people say they ended up with mutual encouragement, mentoring, and networking through direct conversations with well-known people.
Negative keywords
- Potential fatigue: some grumbling that "this place has nothing but high-spec people" and "it's all just constructive talk" — a latent fatigue seems to exist.
- Curiosity: what if you added an AI? Could it contribute to mutual learning?
Potential business models
- Interface: sound effects or emoticons for feedback.
- Features: opening/joining private paid rooms, presentations, external link or video integration.
- Business: exclusive channels, front-load ads, digital publishing, gifticon sending, donations.

In terms of the frontend of the service, the interface and narrative are very satisfactory.
It is the first time that the process of recognizing, installing, signing up, and joining the app has been so touching.
The feeling of signing up and waiting for the invitation, the feeling of logging in for the first time after receiving an invitation link from an acquaintance is still vivid.
Not only that, but there are a lot of things that are shared among those who participate.
'nice to meet you. Thank you.
I was also so impressive while using it.
The operation and marketing methods from the backend side are also excellent.
Like Facebook, it is a structure in which small groups of users gradually spread based on social networks.
Unlike Facebook, the initial cluster started equally with the general public, not with Ivy League universities.
Like PayPal, spontaneous spread took place.
Unlike PayPal, rewards weren't money, but limited invitations.
Compared to other previous communications,
'SMS: MMS: WeChat = Podcast: YouTube: Clubhouse'.

- Repeatability: There is a lot of demand for the room manager to open a room periodically/repeatedly
- Efficacy: It is said that mutual encouragement, mentoring, and network were formed in the process of direct conversation with famous people.

- Potential fatigue : Complaining that this is only high-spec?
